Welcome Larry Shatzer!

Edell, Shapiro & Finnan LLC (ESF) is excited to announce that Larry Shatzer has joined the firm as Partner.  Larry specializes in patent litigation and has held numerous first-chair jury and non-jury trial roles in cases in federal district courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). He has over 100 district court cases and more than three dozen ITC Section 337 investigations to his credit, and his expertise encompasses a broad array of technology sectors, including biotechnology, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, telecommunications, computers, and mechanical systems.

“Larry is highly respected in the industry, and I believe that his litigation and counseling expertise is an ideal complement to the firm’s existing trademark, patent prosecution, and counseling practices,” says Managing Partner Josh Puvak. “We are also thrilled at this opportunity to leverage Larry’s skillset as a member of the firm’s post-grant practice.”

Larry has argued several appeals, including before the 2nd, 4th, and Federal Circuits. Larry has also testified as an expert witness in U.S. district court on ITC Section 337 practice and procedure. He is a past president of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association and previously served several years as the Chair of the IP Litigation Department of a major national law firm.
