Ying Yu Chen joined Edell, Shapiro & Finnan in 2024 and has been involved in the intellectual property field since 2017. Ying Yu received a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science from Swarthmore College. Ying Yu focuses her practice on patent preparation and prosecution and specializes in a wide variety of technologies, including:
- wireless and network communications
- artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms and systems
- computer hardware and software
- IoT-related technologies
- mobile communications systems
- control systems
Prior to joining Edell, Shapiro & Finnan, Ying Yu worked at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as a Patent Examiner for over 6 years examining patent applications in artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms and systems.
Ying Yu is a law student at American University Washington College of Law and expects to graduate in May 2024. In her free time, Ying Yu enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
