Elliot Wiley (they/them) joined Edell, Shapiro & Finnan in 2023 after graduating from American University. With the knowledge gained from their wide range of enriching experiences prior to and during law school, Elliot advises clients on all matters of intellectual property, including trademark clearance, prosecution, maintenance, enforcement, and intellectual property protection strategies.

Elliot graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Natural Sciences (Geology, Biology, and Computer Science) and a B.A. in English Writing. Prior to joining the firm, Elliot worked as a student attorney with the WCL Glushko-Samuelson IP Clinic and advised low-income clients on intellectual property matters. Over the summer, Elliot interned with the U.S. International Trade Commission’s Office of Unfair Imports. Additionally, Elliot helped run the American University Intellectual Property Brief and organized multiple conferences, including “Understanding the USITC” and “Diversity in IP Law.” Elliot is eager to get involved with INTA and the ABA and work with other professionals who share their passion for using intellectual property law to protect creativity and culture.

In their free time, Elliot loves to travel, hike, knit and refinish furniture.
