Alex Bara joined Edell, Shapiro & Finnan in 2026 and has been a practicing attorney since 2016. While a registered patent attorney, Alex focuses his practice on trademark and copyright counseling, due diligence, and prosecution. He brings a strong technical foundation to his work, giving him a thorough mechanical understanding of his clients’ products and services.

Prior to joining ESF, Alex gained valuable experience at another boutique intellectual property law firm in Chicago. While earning his nuclear engineering degree at the University of Illinois, he spent multiple summers interning at Argonne National Laboratory.

Outside the office, Alex is on a mission to visit every U.S. National Park with his wife, and enjoys cheering on the Fighting Illini in football and basketball, spending time with his two cats, and wrenching on cars.
