Terry Gresl has been a patent attorney since 2011 and has been working with ESF since early 2021.

With a broad range of skills in intellectual property law, science and business, Terry brings a range of experience to counseling clients in life sciences intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, IPR proceedings and IP litigation, intellectual property due diligence and portfolio management, freedom-to-operate, infringement and validity analyses, and negotiation of licenses, and collaboration/related agreements.

Terry specializes in a variety of life sciences-related areas, including:

  • pharma and biotech (antibodies, conjugates, gene silencing, GMOs, gene editing)
  • agriculture
  • medical diagnostics and devices.

She first became involved in intellectual property working in law firms while doing graduate work in life sciences, during her MBA—focusing on strategic management of life sciences companies—and law school.  Following law school, Terry continued to work at law firms, focusing on patent prosecution, licensing, and intellectual property litigation, and continued in the licensing field at an agriculture research center for a number of years.

When not at work Terry enjoys spending time with family, participating in sports, reading, and playing music with friends.
