Jared Otterstrom joined Edell, Shapiro & Finnan in 2023 and has been practicing intellectual property law since 2008. With a degree in physics Jared has been able to practice in a wide range of technologies. Jared’s practice focuses on patent portfolio development including patent application drafting and prosecution, portfolio management, counseling, freedom-to-operate, invalidity, infringement analysis and opinions, due diligence, and related matters. Jared has experience developing and protecting intellectual property for large corporations, universities, and start-up ventures.

Jared began his career in intellectual property working a patent boutique firm in Silicon Valley where he had hands on experience working with start-up companies and well known corporations in the computer industry. Jared also worked at an intellectual property law firm in Utah servicing a wide variety of clients.

In his spare time, Jared enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and camping with his family.
